Cocktail of the week - Moroccan Mint Toddie

November 20, 2014 by Dave at The Craft Drinks Company

Morrocan Mint Toddie

Our first hot cocktail of the season is a cheeky North African twist on the classic Scottish remedy.

Great for sipping by the fire on these cold winter nights or even better to burn out the sniffles!

You'll need:
- 45ml Scotch Whisky
- 15ml Almond Syrup
- Fresh Mint
- Fresh Ginger
- Honey
- Lemon
- Cinnamon Stick
- A steel jug or cocktail shaker
- A heat proof glass

The method in the madness:
1. Get your steel jug and throw in 1/4 of a lemon, about 4cm of ginger & a good squeeze of honey.
2. Boil a kettle & pour in about 100ml of boiling water.
3. Add a handful of mint and stir.
4. Throw in 45ml of scotch, a splash of almond syrup & give it another wee stir.
5. Strain into your heat proof glass and garnish with a mint sprig & cinnamon stick.
6. Don't hang about, drink it while it's hot!

There yar! I've been having a few of these the last couple of nights as I'm feeling utterly rubbish!....
