MySouthend provides easy way to deal with your Council business
MySouthend provides easy way to deal with your Council business
Friday 18th September 2015
A new online tool to assist residents and businesses to access their Council accounts quickly and securely will launch next week (Tuesday 22nd September).
MySouthend, is a secure online service allowing residents and businesses, once registered, to see up-to-date information on their accounts 24 hours a day. Residents will be able to check their Council Tax and Housing Benefit accounts and Landlords and Business Owners will be able to manage their account transactions quickly. Payments to the Council can also be made quickly and efficiently through the new service.
As well as saving on administration costs, the new service aims to cut the waiting time when telephoning the Council and reduced the need for customers to ring in with simple queries. This will allow staff to prioritise more vulnerable and elderly customers and those with complex queries.
As an additional incentive to use MySouthend, all those who register before midnight on 31st October will be entered in to a draw to win an iPad mini.
Cllr Ian Gilbert, Executive Councillor for Community and Organisational Development said: “We are always looking at ways to make things easier for our customers and improving their experience when contacting us. My Southend allows us to do just that, giving the residents and businesses of Southend a chance to manage their dealing with the council more effectively online.
“MySouthend has been developed to save waiting time both in person and on the phone to enable residents and businesses to be more self-sufficient. Signing up for MySouthend is really quick and easy to do. I have already signed up and would encourage others to register now.”
Phase two of the project, which will see more options and services added is expected to launch before the end of the year.
