Stalls, local live music, tea & cake, and the opportunity to make a square for a quilt that will be gifted once made.


25th May – Jubilee Be Well Festival at Garon Park

Join Active Life for an afternoon of activities in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee! Including: – Total body Workout – Gentle Circuit – Dance Fit – Seated Fitness – Hula – Yoga & Stretch … and more!! (Tea and Coffee available). All proceeds going towards Havens Hospices.


28th May to 2nd June – Southend Film Festival at Park Inn by Radisson Place Southend

Southend Film Festival returns for 2022 with a range of films and documentaries that will whet any film buff’s appetite!


28-29 May – Music in The Park, Priory Park

Saturday – Jackie Wilson Says

Sunday – Daisy Bowlers

Both acts will perform between 3pm – 4.30pm


29th May – May Fair - St Margaret’s Church, Lime Avenue, Leigh on sea


29th May Jubilee Picnic in Bonchuch Park

Join Leigh Town Council for their family friendly picnic in the park event, bring a blanket and enjoy live musical performances, stalls and more.

At Bonchurch Park, Sunday 29 May, 12pm – 3pm.


30th May – Hadleigh country park

As part of the Summer of Culture, Essex Cultural Diversity Project is coordinating a programme of events to bring communities together and connect with local green spaces.

The programme will open with a range of fascinating free workshops and performances across the Essex Country Parks during May half-term, and will close with a special Global Village festival event later in the summer on Sunday 3 July at Hadleigh Country Park.

2nd June – Jubilee Trail – Belfairs Nature Discovery Centre


2nd June – Queens Platinum Jubilee Beacon will be lit at 9.45 by the Cenotaph at Clifftown Parade, Southend


2nd June – Jubilee Cream Tea – Prittlewell Priory

Join us at the beautiful historic location of Prittlewell Priory to celebrate the Queen’s 70th Jubilee!

Tickets: £9 per person. Includes 1 fruit scone, 1 plain scone, clotted cream, jam, strawberries, a selection of biscuits, and a cup of tea. Jubilee themed children’s craft activity is included.

A jubilee themed children’s craft activity will be available for a small fee in the visitor centre for visitors who do not wish to purchase the cream tea.

Must be booked in advance.


2nd June – The Big Platinum Jubilee Lunch at the Royals, Southend

Calling all little kings and queens! Join the Little Royalty team for a FREE kid’s lunch to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, at The Royals Shopping Centre.


2nd June – Music In the Park – Priory Park Bandstand

The ever popular Music in the Park returns to Priory Park bandstand.  The bandstand will come alive in celebration of the Jubilee bank holiday with top local bands and musicians! Don’t miss out!  This event is completely free!

Thursday 2nd June:
Southend Band – 1pm – 2:30pm
Salvation Army Band – 3pm – 4:30pm
Mighty Brass Jam – 5pm – 6pm

Friday 3rd June

This weekend’s band will be:
Bank Holiday Friday – Famous Potatoes
Saturday – Southend Vox
Sunday – The Show Choir
All three acts will perform between 3pm – 4.30pm

No chairs will be provided so please bring your own or a blanket. There is also limited parking at the park so where possible use public transport, walk or cycle.

The New City Gallery Team will be showcasing their work inside the Score Board and outside on the grass we will be running art workshops for children and adults should they wish to join in too.

12th June – Southend half marathon

The 13.1 mile half marathon route starts and finishes at East Beach, Shoeburyness and passes through the Garrison and along the scenic coast.


18th June – Island Fest at Adventure Island, Southend

Island Fest will be showcasing some of the best-unsigned Bands, Solo Artists, Dance Groups, Painters and Creators that Southend On Sea has to offer.

A stunning display of classic cars on City Beach, Southend | 9am-4pm


25th June – City of Southend Armed Forces Day

The parade will start at approximately 10.15am and make its way from The Royals to Victoria Circus where there will be a service for the attending personnel, which will last about 40 minutes. | Free event, 9am-5pm


25th June – Cycling and Active Travel Festival, Belfairs Park

29th June – Jubilee Concert – Age Concern – Haven Community Hub

Join Age Concern Southend’s Dementia Choir and elderly persons choir in a FREE concert at the Haven Community Hub, celebrating the Platinum Jubilee on Wednesday 29th of June at 4-5pm. No booking required – just turn up and enjoy!
